Zoomerology: 1946

LIKE A PHOENIX RISING FROM THE ASHES FOLLOWING THE SECOND WORLD WAR, you made your fiery entrance into the world.

From a numerology perspective, that would make your life number a two, providing you with a wait-and-see attitude for most things with the exception of love. That’s because
your number makes you the perfect
candidate to fall in love deeply and
truly, creating lifelong friends and
lovers. But be a little careful: the song
of the year was Perry Como’s “Prisoner
of Love.”

1946 was an eye-popping year as
Louis Rard introduced the bikini to
a receptive audience in Paris, modelled
by a 19-year-old nude dancer for the
Casino de Paris, as no “respectable”
model would take the job; moms
around the globe had their rst chance
to try a new detergent called Tide; and
Vancouver Island had to shake off its
largest earthquake ever at 7.3 on the
Richter Scale.

On the big screen, James Stewart’s
It’s a Wonderful Life lost the Oscar to
The Best Years of Our Lives while, at the
grocery store, a loaf of bread was just
a dime and gas was 20 cents a gallon.

Looking east, those born in 1946
will also notice the in uence of the
Chinese astrological year of the dog.
Those born under this canine sign are
said to be logical, faithful and honest
although, at times, dogmatic.

With all these distinctive qualities,
you can easily recognize others born
in 1946: think Veronica Tennant and
Eugene Levy, both part of your dog-eat-
dog world.
