Canada’s first lady, Laureen Harper, is best known for being a farm girl who loves motorcycles and cranking up Tom Cochrane’s “Life is a Highway” on hubby Stephen’s tour bus. And while she’s a blond stunner, Harper, 45, who has milked cows and wielded a chainsaw, isn’t one for high fashion around the mansion. Until now. She’s hosted fashion maven Jeanne Beker at 24 Sussex Drive and during a recent globe-trot, she turned heads in fashion ensembles that proved she’s stepping up the couture quotient.
But she’s not the only Harper to dial up the wow factor. The prime minister, 49, newly svelte after losing 40 pounds, has ditched the mock turtles for sleek suits. Now, if his hair would just move.
