The World Unites for Haiti Relief Tonight
haitirelief.jpgCanada's television networks have come together to support those suffering in Haiti. CBC, CTV and Global are collaborating in a one-hour commercial-free special for Haitian relief called "Canada for Haiti."

"Canada for Haiti" will be hosted by George Stroumboulopoulos, Cheryl Hickey, and Ben Mulroney and will include Canadian stars like Nelly Furtado, The Tragically Hip, Micheal J. Fox, Céline Dion, James Cameron, Rick Mercer and Alex Trebek. The special will take a look at Canada's relationship with Haiti and feature performances by top Canadian musicians.

After the hour-long Canadian special, our neighbours to the south will air "Hope For Haiti Now."

"Hope for Haiti Now" was organized and will be hosted by George Clooney with a number of Hollywood's biggest names, including Haitian-born Wyclef Jean and Anderson Cooper with musical guests Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Taylor Swift and a collaboration among Keith Urban, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow.

The specials will be aired tonight (Friday, January 22) starting at 7pm.

Beginning Saturday morning you will have the chance to download songs from the American telethon from iTunes for 99 cents each. All proceeds will go to relief organizations, including the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, United Nations World Food Programs, the Red Cross, Unicef and the Yele Haiti Foundation.
